Ashburton announces new JNPL Technical Director

technical directorAshburton United Soccer Club (AUSC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Borowicz as the Technical Director of the club’s new junior boys NPL (JNPL) program.

Matthew brings a wealth of experience to Ashburton, having been a professional player in Poland, as well as amassing more than 10 years coaching experience at top clubs in Australia and overseas.

Most recently Matthew was the Technical Director for NPL boys and girls at Box Hill United and prior to that, he spent 4 years at South Melbourne FC as the Youth Coordinator.

In his new role with Ashburton, Matthew will oversee the club’s JNPL football program, using his experience to help to develop talent while also ensuring all teams maintain a high standard of play that is consistent with the club’s coaching philosophy, ‘the Ashy Way’.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Matthew has joined the team at Ashburton. He is passionate about football and knows what it takes to play football at the highest level, which will directly benefit our JNPL players,” said Bob Stensholt, AUSC President.

“Most importantly, he shares our club’s view that our primary role is to help develop great young men, not just great footballers. This is a really exciting time to be at Ashburton,” said Bob.

Ashburton was the only club in Boroondara to receive a junior NPL license from Football Victoria earlier this year. The license enables Ashburton to enter NPL teams in the under 13, 14, 15 and 16 age groups in 2020 as part of the top level junior competition in the state.

Trials for the new JNPL teams start from 7 October at Salesian College, Chadstone. Players must register their interest before attending using the following link:
